Hello Kenneth,
Thank you for stopping by.
I am using both TD-direct-investing and Questrade. I don’t find any issues with these two brokerage. TD trading cost is $9.99 while Questrade trading fee is $4.95; however, TD has much more features than Questrade such as research reports, screener tools, etcs.
There are bunch of other banks also have brokerage units.
Best of luck!

Hi FJ,
I just stumbled upon your amazing financial journey and I wish I had the time and motivation when I was your age. I’m 50 now and trying to build my nest egg.
I am perplexed by the difference between your short term goal of yearly passive dividend income of 3500 and the projected yearly passive dividend income of 4800+. What is the difference and how do you re-calculate that monthly and yearly?
Finance Journey says
Hello Bonnie,
Thank you for stopping by,
Passive dividend income is the income I received from investments in the specific year.
Projected yearly passive dividend income means, the dividend income I expect to receive in a year based one number of shares I have and their yields.
I hope this helps.
Best of luck in building your nest egg.
