Another month passed by, and another high dividend income from 30 different income streams.
I received over $620 dividends & interest payments from 30 different companies in July 2016.
This is pure passive income and it grows month over month.
It is like a dream. We invest our money in a high quality company. And, someone at the other end works hard and sends money to my account every quarter, sometimes every month.
We take the cash and do anything we want. We could buy more companies, buy groceries, pay bills or go for a vacation, etc.
It is not rich man game anymore in this internet world. Anybody can do this as long as you have a good online brokerage account and little extra money to invest.
As you know, I didn’t come from rich family background, and I am not making six figures income. All I do save little bit money every month and invest in high quality dividend paying stocks.
If I can do with my middle class income, then you can do that too.
So, get inspired and start do something to achieve your financial freedom.
Life is really short and there are tons of things to see and enjoy before we go back to where we came from.. Don’t think to spend your 40 years of beautiful life in a job that you don’t want to do.
Start something small in your free time that you like and make you happy. It could be anything – learn about investing, start a small business in your passion, online business, etc. And, enjoy your life.
Now let’s look at my dividend income in numbers.
I received $622.15 dividend income in July 2016, and it is 17.73% higher than July 2015 which was $528.44.
Summing up all the dividends I received in 2016, I came up with $4033.17 One of my short-term goals is to receive at least $7200 dividend income during the year of 2016. So far, I’ve achieved 56.02% of the goal.
I suppose to have reached 58.33% of my short-term goal by end of July, but little behind. Hopefull, I will catch up in the coming months 😀 .

Estimated passive income
For those new to this site, the Estimated passive income is the income I estimated to receive in a year based on my current investments holding and their distribution rate.
My Estimated passive income is currently at $7220, decreased by $66 from my last update due to the dividend increases in few stocks and recent purchases.
One of my long-term goals is receive $25000 dividend income from investment portfolios. I have achieved 28.88% of my goal.
I am very happy with my results and achievements so far. I hope I am moving in the right direction toward my long term financial goals.

Hi
One more question, how you make sure that in process of earning dividend , your stock value will not reduce and will not have negative growth?
Also what advise would you give to new investor like me meaning what thing you would have done differently back when you started ?
Thanks so much.

Hi Keith,
I am a buy and hold dividend investor, therefore I invest in selected high quality stocks for long time. It means I don’t mind whether stocks value move up or down in a short period. I am happy as long as I receive my dividend payments. As you said, stock value go bit down on ex-dividend date. But, I don’t sell them at low. And, most of the stocks in my portfolio increase their dividend payments every year. When they hike their dividend payments, their stock value will increase as well (in most situations).
What advise would you give to new investors – I made lot of mistakes in my financial journey at the beginning , for sure, I will make some mistakes in the future too. I took them as a great experience, learned new things from those mistakes and moved on.
My best advises would be learn as much as you can about finance by reading good books and from great financial websites/blogs, and start doing something small, get some experience and grow from there.
When you look from outside everything seems hard, but it is not.
I hope I answered for your questions,
Best Regards,

Hi
You didn’t mention about how much unit you own for each stock, it would be nice if you can do that for your August update.
Thanks

Its certainly nice to see a detailed result report and year over year comaprision etc. but there are two important things I could not find in your otherwise excellent work.
1. How much total investment do you have in these stocks and ETFs?
2. At what (average) price point did you buy these stocks and dividends?
Thanks for taking time to share results with us.

Hello Sony,
Thank you for stopping by,
Currently, I have around $200 000 worth of stocks and ETFs in my stock portfolio. Most of the stocks I bought at much lower price than now, except few (CVE, CPD, ZPR, etc). May be I will post their book value later..

Nice job, and great year over year progress. Keep it up, love watching the progress. How much of that increase is from fresh capital, and how much from dividend increases?
Finance Jouneny says
Hello MrSLM,
Thank you for stopping by,
To be honest, I didn’t do very deep calculation, but in recent months I didn’t use fresh capital to purchase stocks. I just reinvesting the dividends in my registered accounts.
