I received over $1000 dividend income in July from 24 different high-quality dividend-paying companies.
I usually receive modest dividend income in January, April, July, and October. This is the first time these monthly dividend income passing the $1000 milestone.
From now on, I will be receiving over $1000 dividend income for 8 months in a year, and the rest of the four months I will be receiving around $500.
I’ve never attempted to smooth out my monthly dividend income. I just kept buying investments whenever I see value and fund availability.
As many of you know, I attempt to build an investment portfolio with dividend growth stocks and aim to generate over $25000 yearly income from the portfolio.
I am almost half-way through my journey (close to 45% of my goal), and hopefully, I will be able to hit the target in the next few years.
Investors have been freaking-out about a possible recession soon and reducing their exposure in the equity market.
As a result, stock markets around the world took a massive hit recently and then recovered a little bit later.
My portfolio is not immune to handle the overall market meltdown and took a hit and recovered as well.
Anyways, I am not making any changes in my investment strategy amid the recent market turmoil.
I see this as a buying opportunity.
I invest in financially sound companies who share their profits with their true owner – aka shareholders.
So, I will take advantage of market pullbacks to opportunistically buy stocks at a lower price than last month.
Plus, I invest for very long-term and am still in my buying stage. Therefore, I see these as opportunities for my wealth-building journey.
Remember, last year this time, investors were worried about rising bond yield and dumped their stocks.
And, this year, they are dumping for the exact opposite reason.
Honestly, it is impossible to predict investors’ behaviors in a short-term, but over the long-term market follow the fundamental (based on historical data).
I would say create a good financial strategy based on your goal, risk tolerance, financial situation, etc, and stick with it until you reach your target.
And, if you are unsure what to do, then I would recommend you to discuss with a qualified financial advisor and get professional help.
I have been posting all my financial information, my successes and failures on this website so someone can learn from my experience and improve their financial situations.

Congrats on hitting the 1k milestone. You are earning enough money to retire early overseas in a place like Latin America or SE Asia if you need a change of pace LOL.
I’m a first time visitor here and am inspired by your progress. Hitting 4 figures in dividend income per month is a serious milestone. I’m only sitting at around $50 per month and have a long way to go.
I noticed you owned NOBL. Any reason why you don’t just buy those individual stocks to avoid the expense ratio? NOBL is an excellent fund though. Just curious.

Hello Investor Trip,
Thank you for stopping by,
The 1K milestone is so amazing. Yes, I can retire overseas with the current dividend income, but I don’t have a plan to do that 🙂
I have individual stocks in my portfolio, mostly in Canadian stocks. I own NOBL only for diversification purpose as I have only limited funds in U.S dollar.
Wish you all the best in your journey
Cheers,

How do you manage your CC debt? Once the zero interest term is due, this sounds expensive and comes with the high financial liability. Could you add some detail as to how you juggle this and manage to still turn a profit?

Hello Mark,
Thank you for stopping by,
I think I discussed about it in the following post (if you missed it).
https://www.financejourney.com/how-i-receive-low-interest-loans/
Actually, I’ve never had any issue managing the debt. May be I am passion about it. I already receive a couple of new low rate offers from the credit cards I have, so I can easily transfer money and secure the rate for another year.
As I always say, leverage investment approach is very risky and it is not suitable for all type of investors. Please do your own research or discuss with a qualified financial advisor before may any decisions.
