I received record high dividend of over $970 dividend income from 46 different income sources.
I am pretty closed to $1000 dividend income per month. Very soon I will hit $1K dividend income for peak months, hopefully by end of this year.
This is record high dividend I received in a month. Previous record was in March 2017.
As you many readers know, I have been slowly accumulating income producing assets, mostly Canadian dividend paying blue-chip stocks for last couple of years.
These assets not just pay me pure cash dividend every month or quarter, they raise their payment at least once year (majority of them). Thus, combination with new assets and dividend hikes, my passive income keeps growing months-over-months and years over years.
It is not rocket science. All you need a good mindset to build wealth. I am average Canadian with around $56 000 yearly income. If I can do it, then you can do it too.
When you have a mindset to build wealth, you will find a way to start accumulating assets. Over time, you could start living using the income generate by your assets.
Let’s get back to discuss about dividend income generated from my investments assets.
Regular readers know that I receive higher dividend payments in the month of March, June, September and December.
I received $971.04 dividend income in June 2017, and it is 15.11% higher than the income I received in June 2016, which was $843.54.
There are two special situations increased this June dividend income by over $30. First one, I received a special dividend from BAM.A and the second one is that I received my WMT dividend in June. I usually receive Walmart dividend in July.
Thus, I may not hit higher again in September, but I am aiming to hit $1000 in December 2017. We will see!
Summing up all the dividends I received in 2017, I came up with $3788.97. One of my short-term financial goals is to receive at least $8000 dividend income during the year of 2017. So far, I’ve achieved 47.36% of the goal.
As I always tell you (readers), I am trying to inspire you by showing my small achievements to start your own journey to reach your financial freedom. It is not a rocket science. If I can do with a middle-class income, then you can do it too.

Hello, Im a big fan of your website but I have a question! How do you get 146.08$ From BIP.UN when you’re holding only 262 shares.
Finance Jouneny says
Hello Sebastien,
Thank you for stopping by and your kind comments.
BIP.UN pays $0.435 USD quarterly dividend. I have 262 units of BIP.UN. Thus, I received $113.97 in U.S dollar, and when I convert it to Canadian dollar I got $146.08. These number will be changed with currency rate.
I hope this make sense.

Nice work, so close to $1,000. We’re in the same boat. I missed $1,000 by less than $25 dollars. Oh well, we’ll both get there in either September or December.
