I am extremely happy to report that I received over $1075 dividends from 47 different income sources – aka dividend-paying stocks.
This is the highest payment I received in a single month. And it is growing so I will receive more money in September than last month.
And, the amount I received was purely passive. It is almost one-third of my active income (day –job salary).
Plus, the income is growing at a faster pace, so at one point this passive income will surpass my active income.
Imagine you go to bed and wake with more money in your bank accounts than you had a day before. How would you please? It is the type of feeling I get whenever I check my brokerage accounts.
The value of the investment goes up and down every single day. It is the nature of the stock market. But dividend income usually stays steady; in most cases grow if you have invested in dividend growth stocks.
In addition, when you reinvest those dividends back into the market, then the growth would be even higher.
Dividend growth stocks strategy takes time to get noticed, but once you get a certain point, the growth will be phenomenal.
I have been investing in dividend growth stocks for the last couple of years. And now I started to notice the benefits.
Therefore, being patient is the key to enjoy the benefits of this wealth building strategy.
In the next few years, I am almost certain that my dividend income will exceed my expenses. I am waiting for the day to celebrate my achievements.
I have been posting all the information on this website because I love to inspire and motivate people to start thinking about their financial future.
Let’s get back to the numbers.
I received $1075.53 dividend in June 2018, which is 10.76% higher than the dividend I received in June 2017.

How much of your own money do you put in each month?
Finance Jouneny says
Hello Ken,
Thank you for stopping by,
To be honest, I don’t put a fixed amount each month. Whenever I have extra money I send it to buy assets or pay down debts, and whenever markets go down and I find opportunities, then I borrow money and buy stocks at cheap prices.
And, if share prices are expensive, then stay quiet and focus on paying my debts.
So, no fixed amount I put to work monthly.
Best Regards,

Hey,
A great month for you. I am just a beginner for dividend investing and received $110.98 last month. How long does it take you to reach this high?
I love your website and am looking forward to follow your journey. thanks

Hi Nathan,
Thank you for stopping by,
I started to invest in dividend growth stocks in early 2012. First month, I received only $24.12 (see here for full updates).
It took almost 6 years to get to this point, and I still need to go long-way to reach my goals.
Wish you all the best in your success 🙂
Happy Investing!

Congratulations and all the best for all your goals. Would you be interested in posting your Forward trailing Annual Dividend Yield with the portfolio.
You are doing a great job. Keep focused!! Slow and steady wins the race!!!
Finance Jouneny says
Hello Shashank,
thank you for stopping by.
Current, forward annual divided yield of the portfolio is 4.02%. The average yield for last couple of years was around 3.75%, but, due to the recent share price declines, the yield has increased a bit.
Cheers,
Shashank says
Thank you, do keep any target in terms of annual yield for the portfolio?
Finance Jouneny says
You’re welcome Shashank 🙂
I don’t set any targets for annual yield.. I buy dividend paying stocks when they trade at low valuations. When you invest in dividend growth stocks for longer-term, then checking current yield won’t make any sense..
Best Regards,
