I received a record dividend of $1201 from 29 different income sources in March. The previous record was set in December 2018.
Many of you know that I receive ‘fat’ dividends in March, June, September, and December.
Due to recent purchases and dividend hikes, I could expect a record high dividend income in June.
As of this writing, the Canadian stock market (TSX) is trading at an all-time high.
Imagine how sentiments towards the stock have changed in a matter of months. Many investors were freaked-out and sold their holdings in December. Now the crown is back to the market and pushes the value to an all-time high.
Just imagine the situation of those who sold their stocks in December. Now, they have to pay a higher price to get back to the market or they need to sit on the sideline and wait for another crash.
Another crash may happen, but nobody can predict exactly when or how long it will take. Even during the crash, nobody can exactly predict the bottom.
Therefore, invest in higher quality stocks and doing nothing is the best actions we can do.
Actually, I am happy that the value of my assets has been increasing nicely; however, as an income-focused investor, I am fine with any market conditions.
Whether market trading at all-time high or 52 weeks’ low, I will receive my income.
- Keep eye on dividends and ignore share prices
