Intro..
For those of you new to this website, in this post, I discuss the recent changes I made in my dividend portfolios, and sometimes I discuss my portfolio diversification strategies as well.
Once again, I didn’t make any major purchases in May. I just reinvested a portion of dividend income from my registered accounts and continued paying down debts in my non-registered accounts.
Also, I sold my entire holdings on Restaurant Brands International Inc. (QSR.TO) with a decent profit.
I had only 76 QSR shares in my portfolio and sold all of them, and the proceeds raised from the were used to paid down some margin loans.
The stock markets have been moving south recently, especially Canadian market. Many high-quality dividend stocks also have been trading lower due to high interest rate, slowing economy and also due to natural disasters.
Also, REITs are struggling. Many REITs have been trading their near or at their 52 weeks low.
I may start adding them if they fall further down from here.
Otherwise, I will continue my focus on debt reductions.
I reached one of my long-term financial goals.
My estimated yearly dividend income reached $25 000 in June. I successfully achieved one of my long-term financial goals of $25000 annual dividend income.
Small-cap portfolio
My small-cap experiment portfolio performance wasn’t that great.
I try to sell small positions at a time.
Again, it is an experimental project with a tiny portion of my money (compared to my dividend portfolios). It is just less than 1% of my overall investments.
Therefore, its poor performance did not make any significant impact in my net worth.
Here are the changes I made in my dividend portfolios in May 2023:
