Intro..
For those of you new to this website, in this post, I discuss the recent changes I made in my dividend portfolios, and sometimes I discuss my portfolio diversification strategies as well.
In August, I continued repurchasing the shares I sold in March.
So far, I successfully repurchased six out of eleven stocks I sold.
And, I have no interest in repurchasing KPT and XRE ETF. I will replace these positions with other similar or different holdings.
I will continue adding the rest of them in the coming months depends on fund availabilities and their price range.
Besides repurchasing the shares, I keep adding new shares in existing positions and initiating some new stocks, especially in the utilities and real-estate sectors.
Recent purchases:
Telus
I purchased 240 shares of Telus at the average price of $22.72. Now I have 400 Telus shares in my Canadian portfolio. I may not add any new position in the near term.
BCE
I purchased 130 shares of BCE at the average price of $55.75, bringing up my position to 200 shares. I may not add any new stocks in the near term.
AQN
I purchased 225 shares of AQN at the average price of $17.23. Now I have 700 shares of AQN in my portfolio. I may consider adding a few more shares if it falls further down.
TRP
I purchased 40 shares of TRP at the average price of $57.23. Now I have 120 shares of TRP, and I may consider adding 80 shares if trading below $57 range.
CPX
I have reinitiated 100 shares of CPX. It is not a new stock for my portfolio. I sold this share a while ago around the current price. After I sold, it performed well at moved up to $35.
.Now, I had a chance to repurchased at a lower price. I may consider adding more if its price falls further down.
REITs purchases
I purchased 180 units of CHP.UN, 120 units of REI.UN, 100 units of FCR.UN and 100 units of MRG.UN.
REITs are one of the most affected sectors due to the current health issue. The majority of the units were trading well below their 52 weeks high and paying nice monthly distributions.
Other purchases:
I added 63 shares of BAM. A (split-adjusted). Due to the recent stock split, I received 62 new shares of BAM.A., and I bought 63 additional shares to bring up the total number to 250.
Besides, I purchased 50 shares of MFC to bring my position to 100.
In August, I made a minor change in my portfolio. I sold one of my long-term positions. I will discuss more in the August update.
Here are the changes I made in my dividend portfolios in July 2020:

Commission FREE ETF purchases
Are you wondering how I can execute small orders of ETSs? Thinking about commission fees?
Actually, I use Questrade for all my ETFs purchases. There are no commission fees for ETFs purchases at Questrade. Therefore, we could buy one or any number of ETFs without paying any commission fees.
This is a great way to deploy cash and invest for more cash-flow as soon as they come in.
For those looking to start investing with little money, Questrade is one of the good options to consider because of their commission-free ETF program and minimum requirements to open an account.
If you have a plan to open an account with Questrade, please accept my gift and take advantage of this $50 trade commission rebate.
There is a trading charge of $4.95 when you sell ETFs. All the details are at the time of writing. If you have a plan to open an account at Questrade, please check all the information (including current commission fees) on their website and see if it is suitable online brokerage for your needs.
