Intro..
For those of you new to this website, in this post, I discuss the recent changes I made in my dividend portfolios, and sometimes I discuss my portfolio diversification strategies as well.
Portfolio changes:
November was an excellent month for my investment portfolios. Portfolios moved up significantly high with the positive vaccine development news.
I was building some positions in hard-hitting sectors such as REITs for the last couple of months, and those purchases performed well and helped increase the portfolios’ value.
I continued to purchase stocks during the first week of November, and I stopped adding new positions after that as most of the stocks’ value spiked high with the next few days.
I didn’t initiate any new positions last month. I just added some stocks to my existing holdings.
Most of these stocks were trading at low in early November, so I decided to buy them.
Under the pipeline sector, I added some stocks in Keyara (TES: KEY), Enbridge (TSE: ENB) and TC Energy (TSE: TRP).
Also, I added some positions in Bell Canada, TD Bank and Sylogist Ltd. (SYZ.V).
Sylogist Ltd. (SYZ.V) is a small-cap technology stocks, which pays a decent dividend. I believe this one has a good potential in the future (high risk-high rewards)
I also made some purchases in December, including more Sylogist Ltd. (SYZ.V), and I will discuss them in my next portfolio update.
Small-Cap Portfolio
It is a small portion of my portfolio (less than 1%). My primary purpose is to learn more about finding small-cap stocks with significant upside potential and make some money.
In October, I sold two positions, HEO and CTS and took a profit. However, it turned out to be a bad move. Both stocks continue performing well after I sold them.
In November, I sold STC with good profit and purchased more PTQ.
I keep making changes on these stocks as I consider as short-term holdings. Thus, I decided not to make any post about them.
I currently have only three holdings (PTQ, DNG and MRS) in my small-cap portfolio.
Now I feel like MRS is a risky one, and it is down from my purchase price. I may consider exit this position soon with some loss.
Here are the changes I made in my dividend portfolios in November 2020:

Commission FREE ETF purchases
Are you wondering how I can execute small orders of ETSs? Thinking about commission fees?
Actually, I use Questrade for all my ETFs purchases. There are no commission fees for ETFs purchases at Questrade. Therefore, we could buy one or any number of ETFs without paying any commission fees.
This is a great way to deploy cash and invest for more cash-flow as soon as they come in.
For those looking to start investing with little money, Questrade is one of the good options to consider because of their commission-free ETF program and minimum requirements to open an account.
If you have a plan to open an account with Questrade, please accept my gift and take advantage of this $50 trade commission rebate.
There is a trading charge of $4.95 when you sell ETFs. All the details are at the time of writing. If you have a plan to open an account at Questrade, please check all the information (including current commission fees) on their website and see if it is suitable online brokerage for your needs.
